I have lived in Loudoun County for 15 years, and have a deep love for conservation, and farming. I've seen a lot of change in those 15 years, and it often seems like change happens to us, rather than by us, or for us. I wanted to be able to be a part of the evolution, conservation, and development of the community I hold so dear. I would like to bring the "love" back to Lovettsville, and cultivate a deeper spirit of connection, and involvement within our small community so our residents can also be a part of the evolution of how our town moves forward. I value the input of our current administration, and would like to build upon what we have already established. In addition to welcoming townspeople's input in town meetings, and decision making, I believe it is also important to welcome more people onto the ballot. I would like to bring awareness to ranked choice voting because there should never be any unopposed candidates. Recent changes in state law allows towns to use ranked choice voting, which allows for several candidates. Lovettsville is full of very smart, and talented people, and I am very much looking forward to paving a fresh path with all of them.
There is often a disconnect between the residents of Lovettsville, and it's governing parties. Residents seem to be unhappy with decisions being made. I want to encourage everyone to make their voices heard.
Lovettsville is currently unable to physically support more development, and business. Our natural resources are simply not there to use. We are running out of water, and what will we do once we have run out? We want to keep Lovettsville small, and well equipped for it's current residents as well as environmentally feasible.
We currently have many restaurants, but no doctors, and a lack of childcare. There are a myriad of needs for our current residents within the scope of family services that is not being met. Our residents must go outside of Lovettsville to get basic healthcare.
